Verdict: MailerLite is one of the most affordable, easiest email tools for small stores. The free plan covers 250 subscribers and 2,500 emails a month with 3 active automations, and paid plans start at $12/month (Comfort) and $25/month (Power). It connects to Shopify and can send abandoned cart emails – but only to shoppers it can recognize (people who signed up through a MailerLite form or clicked a MailerLite email). If abandoned cart revenue is your main goal, an e-commerce-first platform like Omnisend or Klaviyo tracks more of it.

The Shopify integration
MailerLite’s help center says the integration:
- Syncs two ways: name, email, marketing consent and subscription status.
- Imports from Shopify: customer and order data, including order count and total spent, as subscriber fields, plus product and revenue data for reports.
- Respects consent: only customers who accept marketing can trigger e-commerce automations.
The abandoned cart catch
MailerLite supports abandoned cart automations for Shopify, but they only fire for recognized shoppers – people who subscribed through a MailerLite form on your store or clicked a link in a MailerLite email. Anonymous visitors aren’t tracked, and switching device or browser resets recognition. A separate “abandoned checkout” trigger applies only to returning customers with at least one previous order.
Also note that MailerLite’s revenue reports count only email-attributed orders (within 30 days of a click), so they won’t match Shopify’s totals.
Who MailerLite is for
Good fit: small stores and creators who want a clean newsletter tool, simple welcome and post-purchase automations, and a generous free plan.
Consider an alternative if: abandoned cart and browse abandonment are your biggest revenue levers, or you want SMS in the same tool – see best email marketing tools for Shopify and Omnisend vs Mailchimp.
